How Our Hair Got This Way
How Our Hair Got This Way is a poem by Jamila Woods, a black singer and songwriter. The poem incorporates ideas comes from how modern humans originated and evolved from Africa, applying it to the biblical myth of Adam and Eve. It tells the story about how Black hair came into existence in the form of mythology. Black hair is very fragile and requires a lot of maintenance due to the curls, so this poem applies the same type of mythical reason for it that you normally get from ancient explanation stories.
The purpose of this project was to design and/or illustrate a poster that properly represents the tone and mood of the poem.
